GTF Green Challenge Day 2019 Photo Rerport 

GTF Green Challenge Day 2019 in Shinjuku Gyoen was held at Shinjuku Gyoen park on October 5 (Sat) and October 6 (Sun).
Although the first day was very hot and the last day was rainy to sunny and the weather was not very good, the number of visitors exceeded 20,000, and they enjoyed learning about biodiversity and environmental conservation through six event programs.

◆ Act1 Eat / Washoku

With the theme of locally produced foods and indigenous vegetables (Edo-Tokyo vegetables), masters of Chinese and Japanese cuisines propose a sustainable menu called “Wa-shoku”.(“wa” means ring and shoku means food in Japanese.)
Reusable tableware has been adopted this year. In hope of the reconstruction of the nature destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake and 2018 Japan floods, we sold salted rice balls using salt from Hiroshima, rice from Fukushima and Okayama.

Popular food truck exhibitors selling limited menus using ingredients produced in the disaster-hit areas, Edo-Tokyo vegetables, or organic ingredients also came to Shinjuku Gyoen!

Learn the mainstream of the environment issues while having fun through workshops held by many companies, organizations and local governments

All power related to the audio system, such as speakers and microphones used on the stage was supplied from the hydrogen vehicle that was displayed right next to the stage at Sekisho Group booth for 2days. We worked on clean energy.

◆ Act4 Join / Stamp collection

Held Stamp collection program that feels "connected" to creatures, nature, people and culture.

The program was designed to create a system to enjoy the excursions in the venue while going around 12 stamp base set up in the venue, making participants reaffirm the importance of the blessings of nature, protect the blessings, and encourage voluntary choices to leave bequeath a beautiful environment to subsequent generations.

Marche shops, a gathering of the specialty of autumn in Japan were open!

Fresh and delicious ingredients and local specialties were gathered in Shinjuku Gyoen. Locally harvested seasonal products are low-carbon products (COOL CHOICE), which are economical in their production methods. In addition to companies that sell environmentally friendly daily necessities, many farmers and organizations from Tohoku, especially Fukushima, came and joined the event as exhibitors this year with hope for the recovery of disaster-stricken areas.
